e-Invoice, built into the invoice
Send an invoice the way you always have — Bukku submits it to LHDN's MyInvois, gets it validated and stamps the QR, and keeps consolidated, self-billed and cancelled e-Invoices straight. On every plan, including the free one.
The rules have moved. Here's where they stand.
LHDN phased e-Invoice in by turnover and has adjusted the thresholds more than once. This is the current position — and whichever band you're in, Bukku is ready when you are.
Under RM3 million
You're not required to issue e-Invoices. You can still send them from Bukku — some customers, especially larger ones, will ask for a validated e-Invoice to claim expenses.
Exemption threshold raised from RM1m to RM3m, effective 1 Sep 2026.RM3 million to RM5 million
e-Invoicing applies from 1 January 2026, with a relaxation period in which LHDN doesn't penalise non-compliance as long as you're making a reasonable effort. Consolidated monthly e-Invoices are accepted during this period.
Relaxation period runs to 31 Dec 2027.Above RM5 million
Fully in force. Every sale needs a validated e-Invoice, or a consolidated one where LHDN allows it, and suppliers who can't issue e-Invoices need self-billed ones from you.
Phased in from August 2024 (over RM100m) to July 2025 (over RM5m).Every kind of e-Invoice, from where you already work
Nothing bolted on. Submission, validation and status live inside the invoices, bills and contacts you use every day.
MyInvois-ready, shown as you go
Your company profile, contacts and products carry the extra fields LHDN wants — TIN, registration number, classification codes. A green tick says ready; an orange mark says what's missing.
Submit from the invoice
One click sends an invoice to MyInvois, singly or in bulk. Validation comes back in seconds with the UUID and QR on the PDF, and you're notified either way.
Consolidated e-Invoice for cash sales
Walk-ins, cash sales and customers who don't ask for one roll up into a single monthly submission, due by the 7th of the following month. Bukku groups them for you.
Self-billed e-Invoice
When a supplier can't issue an e-Invoice, you must. Any purchase bill in Bukku can be submitted as a self-billed e-Invoice with a click.
Cancellations and rejections, inside 72 hours
Cancel a validated e-Invoice with a reason within LHDN's 72-hour window, straight from Bukku. Rejections from your customer show up on the document, so nothing slips.
Customers can request one themselves
Every shared invoice carries a "Request e-Invoice" button. The customer fills in their TIN and details, Bukku validates — no back-and-forth with you, as long as it's within the invoice month.
Three steps, then it's just invoicing
Add Bukku as your intermediary
In LHDN's MyInvois portal, authorise Bukku to submit on your behalf. Sole proprietors register in MyTax first. A one-time step; our guide walks through it.
Get MyInvois-ready
Complete your company profile, then the contacts and products you invoice most. Bukku flags exactly which fields are missing, so you're never guessing.
Invoice as usual
Pick the MyInvois control per document — Validate now, Normal for the monthly consolidated run, or External if it was submitted elsewhere — and send. The MyInvois module tracks every document's status.
